Took some pics today with Marilyn Monroe

Just gave her a quick wash today and found a great spot to shoot some pics. I haven't taken many pics since I got the new headlights so here are some new ones. The new headlights are Helix smoked chrome OEM HID replicas with a 6000K HID kit and topped off with some Lamin-x protective tinted film. I love the new look of my front-end.

New Springfield XD-9 Handgun and Shooting

A good AR-15 & Tech-9friend and I purchased our first handguns. I have been thinking about getting a handgun for awhile to protect against zombies so when my friend said he was getting one, I couldn’t think of a better time. I went with the Springfield XD-9 Service model in a bi-tone finish (silver and black), and he went with a AR-15 & Tech-9Springfield XDM-9 all black. We went out to his parent’s house to test our new guns and it was awesome. We both put about 150 rounds through our XD’s and we are very happy with our purchases. My friend’s uncle and dad came with us to give some pointers and they also brought along a bunch of other weapons for us to shoot, including a wonderful AR-15 with scope and a Tech-9. The AR-15 was absolutely incredible to shoot, almost no re-coil and super accurate. His dad and uncle are both avid shooters so I was very glad to go with someone who would make sure I didn’t shoot my eye out. View the full album here.

DIY - Reverse VNC - Easier Remote Tech Support - Your Own Free Helpdesk

If you’re a “computer guy” I’m sure you get calls from friends and family asking to help troubleshoot computer problems all the time. Personally I find it very hard to troubleshoot problems over the phone without looking at the console. Walking users through setting up RDP/VNC, port forwarding is even harder. I have been using this support technique for some time with my friends and family and it works perfectly. I decided to write a quick howto article to describe the steps.

DIY - How to paint your cars ABS plastic parts *Projektzwo Grill Howto*

I found this Projektzwo MK4 Jetta grill in the classifieds on VWVortex.com. The ad said the grill was already painted Platinum Gray so I was excited to throw it on. I remember the seller said it had a “couple” of rock chips but when I received it I noticed a lot more than a “couple.” I wasn’t going to complain because it’s not every day that you find a very rare grill like this one, so I decided to put a fresh coat on it. I know painting your grill isn’t that difficult but I figured I might as well create a how-to for the people who like a step-by-step walk through, plus I’ve never done it before so I thought it would be a cool project. Below I outline the eight step process I followed to paint this grill. Click on the thumbnails for a bigger picture.
